As a Custodial Area Supervisor at the University of Arizona, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of classrooms, labs, offices and all other public spaces. • Directs the work of custodians performing cleaning tasks.
• Assists in supervising all inter-collegiate athletic sports and campus events.
• Schedules work to meet normal requirements without interfering with building occupants or students.
• Inspects buildings, rooms, storage space, halls, fixtures, and custodial equipment to observe the results of the work performed.
• Drives a university vehicle daily across campus to inspect the work done in various buildings, deliver supplies to buildings, and transport custodians.
•Recommends budget, materials, and equipment for assigned areas.
•Prepares a variety of operational reports and memoranda. Completes Career Conversations with employees annually.
Submits documentation regarding employee job performance and behavior. May meet with employees to issue disciplinary action.
• Coaches custodians to improve their job knowledge; provides high-quality cleaning services and encourages career development.
• Trains custodians and temporary staff on equipment operation, chemical usage, and cleaning schedules.
• Performs other duties as necessary to meet the needs of our customers.
•Requests appropriate material, equipment, and supplies while operating within the established budget.
•Recommends budget, materials, and equipment for assigned area.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
A high school diploma, equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience is required.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant supervisory experience required.
Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy .
An associate degree with a minimum of four years of experience in custodial services.
Two years of custodial supervisory experience is also highly preferred.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University’s campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
