Position Summary

The Defensive Coordinator will assist with training and developing players on technique, hand placement, and footwork while assisting the defensive coordinator with game planning, film analysis, and scouting. They also assist with managing practice drills, assist with recruitment, ensure NCAA compliance, and assist with monitoring student-athlete academic progress.

The Colorado State University Department of Athletics sponsors 16 men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports and competes as a member of NCAA Division I (FBS). The University is a current member of the Mountain West Conference and future member of the Pac-12 Conference. The University is located in Fort Collins, Colorado, 65 miles north of Denver. • Assist in developing game strategies, creating scouting reports, and breaking down opponent game film.

Conditions of Employment

Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires), Valid Driver’s License

Supervision

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree

• Minimum of one year of professional work experience in collegiate or professional football

• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous playing experience in NCAA Division I FBS or FCS

• Strong understanding of football techniques, strategies, and rules

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

• Proficiency in video analysis tools and coaching/recruiting software

• Ability to travel and work nontraditional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Salary Range

$20.00 -- $23.00/hour
