Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting donor prospects for athletic teams and associated athletic programs.
• Responsible for developing meaningful and productive relationships in creating and supporting a portfolio of gift donors and prospects, while also partnering with various departments and constituencies on campus.
• Maintains and grows annual fund support as well as capital improvement and endowment support for Athletics and the development, implementation, management, and refinement of programs that engage and encourage the participation of alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents, and friends in supporting Valpo Athletics.
• Reports to AD and with a dotted line to the Vice President for Advancement and Strategic Initiatives and will set annual goals, establish priorities, and determine and implement funding strategies for a variety of teams and programs.
• This position has key responsibilities for all athletic donor relations and stewardship activities. In conjunction with the Director of Athletics, this position will play a lead role in the management and continued stewardship of select/sport specific donor groups. 
• Assist AD and coaches to help determine the department needs and VP for Advancement to prepare a strategy for effective solicitation.
• Work with the Assistant Athletic Director for Development to meet the development goals for the athletic department. Comprehensively, the Deputy Athletic Director for Revenue Generation and Assistant Athletic Director for Development are responsible for athletics major gift cultivation.
• Implement creative ways to engage former Valpo letter winners to celebrate past achievements and shared traditions.
• Serve as the sports administrator for selected sports to be determined. Serving as the lead administrator in the management of the operations and decisions within the assigned sports.

Required Knowledge/ Skills:

• 5 years in Division I Athletics Administration
