Position Overview
The NCCU Department of Athletics’ primary purpose is to provide leadership for an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics program. The NCCU Department of Athletics places the highest priority on a quality academic and athletic experience as part of the overall education of student- athletes. The Department of Athletics seeks to strengthen the integration of the athletics program objectives with academic development objectives.
The primary purpose of the Deputy Athletics Director for Development & Revenue Generation is to lead the strategic direction, oversight, coordination, leadership and active participation in the development and revenue generation, and serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and Senior Staff in the Department of Athletics.
Proven skills in meeting goals for contributions, corporate sponsorships and major gifts for an Intercollegiate Athletics program. The candidate must possess outstanding oral and written communication skills. Preferred experience in using Raiser’s Edge, ticketing system software, and Adobe software packages.
The qualified candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree. Master’s preferred. Must have at least five years’ experience in athletics marketing and development.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Administrative
Identifies, cultivates and solicits donor prospects in support of NCCU Athletics to reach annual fundraising goals as set forth by the Director of Athletics in conjunction with the Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement. Actively participates with the Office of Institutional Advancement in moves management, prospect screening, and goal setting
Leadership
Supervises Development & Corporate operations, undergraduate and graduate interns assigned to the Development and Revenue Generation office. Serves as an executive leadership team member & senior staff member of the Department of Athletics
Planning and Organizing
Plan and implement all aspects of the major and annual gift fundraising program (prospect management from identification through stewardship, events, communications, social media, and volunteer management) for programmatic needs for a department that comprises 15 varsity sports. Manage all aspects of game day relations and in game promotions/activations for home athletic contests. Act as Department of Athletics liaison to University Ticketing and Tailgating.
Administrative
Direct staff and provide leadership to Marketing and Fan Engagement, Ticket Operations, Special Events, corporate partner and sponsor operations to achieve revenue generation goals for the Department of Athletics.
Administrative
Responsible for leading in the creation of season, single game, premium seating pricing tables and programming. Responsible for leading in the development of program marketing plans, strategies and projects. Responsible for leading in the development and execution of athletic department special events.
Administrative
Sports supervision, serve as the central party through which the operation and activities designated sports operational activities flows. This oversight role includes meeting regularly with the head coach and interacting with assistant coaches, student-athletes, and administrative support staff. This also includes budget oversight.

Coordinate aspects of NIL and liaison with The Brandr Group. Facilitate licensing and education related to NIL opportunities for student-athletes.
