Centre College invites qualified applicants for the full-time position of Deputy Director of Athletics. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this position leads all aspects in building a nationally competitive Division III athletics program,
This position requires compliance with all NCAA, SAA, and Centre College rules and regulations and to be mindful of the College’s core values of diversity and inclusion.
With groundbreaking in July 2021, Centre Athletics is constructing the $65 million Initiative for Wellness and Athletics Excellence (IWAE) project. The transformational facility will feature a new indoor fieldhouse, with a 200-meter track plus indoor turf, a 50-meter natatorium, a new baseball facility, plus a new stadium for football, lacrosse, and track and field. Included in this strategic initiative is over 6,000 square feet of additional strength and conditioning space.
The Deputy Director of Athletics serves as a senior member of the Centre College Athletics Administration, reporting to the Director of Athletics. This position oversees and directs the department’s efforts in admissions, fundraising, alumni relations, corporate relations, external relations, facilities and events, communications, and summer camps/clinics. The Deputy AD is a highly visible position that carries significant influence, and thus requires strong character and work ethic.
Contribute to the overall success of the department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned;

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of five years of experience as a collegiate administrator and coach required. Previous collegiate administrative experience required. Previous experience as a collegiate coach, and at the Division III level, is desired. Previous fundraising experience is a plus. Experience with Division III either as a student-athlete, coach, or administrator is strongly preferred.The Deputy AD is a highly visible position that carries significant influence and thus requires strong character and work ethic.
Knowledge and Skills
Expert communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. Teamwork oriented attitude and a desire to work in a fast-paced, highly-successful Division III athletic department a must. Knowledge of NCAA and SAA rules and regulations. Previous experience with communications, marketing, event management, or coaching is a plus. Additional qualifications include being self-motivated, visionary, positive, energetic, eager to teach, willingness to travel, and the ability to foster a team environment is needed.
Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling up to 25 pounds. Standing and or walking for more than four hours per day. Driver’s License required.
