Responsible for coordinating efforts to increase the Athletic Departments’ revenue primarily through, but not limited to, Sponsorship sales and annual fund donations by growing existing relationships and acquiring new business partners. This includes identifying potential corporate partners and donors, developing proposals, invoicing, and coordinating collections efforts and fulfilling contracts for all sports related inventory within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Coordinates with and builds relationships with current corporate partners and donors seeking their input on strategies to enhance existing elements of their contracts.
Assists the revenue team in building relationships with current donors to enhance existing elements of their sponsorship agreements.
Manages the fulfillment of all donors giving level benefits.
Leverages local market data and community relationships to identify potential sponsorship partners through attendance and participation with local area Chamber of Commerce and other business-related organizations and events.
Responsible for image enhancement of Department of Intercollegiate Athletics across Rio Grande Valley market by leveraging athletic events and growing relationships with local businesses and community organizations. Plans and creates proposals and presentations with input from direct supervisor based on the needs of potential donors and corporate sponsors.
Assists the Associate Athletics Director of Development in creation of gift proposals.
Engages and consults with corporate partners and donors regularly, promoting quality customer service and contract fulfillment.
Tracks and reports number of departmental sales presentations and amounts of revenue pitched on a monthly and annual basis.
Assists the department of intercollegiate athletics with the coordination of all game day and special event promotions, specifically engaging sponsors to participate and attend these events.
Responsible for working and attending events and promotions including occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.
Meets deadlines for presentations to potential corporate partners.
Responsible for all stewardship operations, including creation of Thank You Letters, Birthday Cards, Event Invites, Etc.
Responsible for tracking and accurately reporting on the department fundraising levels.
Performs other duties as assigned.
General supervision from the assigned supervisor.
Direct supervision of assigned staff.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (comparable required experience may be accepted in lieu of education on a 1 on 1 basis).

One (1) year of sales and fundraising experience in a related field and/or professional experience in the sports industry.
Related experience obtained in college or professional sports field.
Experience in non-profit fundraising.
Experience in an advertising sales environment, college/university, or pro sports field.
Use of standard office equipment.
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Frequent travel, nights, weekends and holiday work is required.
