Position Description:
The Development Officer I (Assistant Director of Development & Stewardship) is responsible for the implementation of a thorough stewardship plan to ensure gifts to the Cardinal Athletic Fund (CAF) are appropriately acknowledged and member benefits are fulfilled. This role will inform and engage donors on the positive impact their giving has on the student-athletes and athletic department. In addition, the Assistant Director of Development & Stewardship is responsible for assistance in planning, organizing, and implementing strategies to increase the level of personal engagement and financial commitment from alumni and fans to the Cardinal Athletic Fund. This position will report to the Associate Director of Development, Annual Fund & Internal Operations Associate Director of Development & Internal Operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrated successful management of client or donor relationships.
Strong planning and project management skills with the ability to identify short and long-range goals and contribute to effective and measurable execution of outcomes.
Support the overall goals of the Cardinal Athletic Fund, playing a significant role in aspects of fundraising initiatives, donor stewardship, event management, and the growth of the CAF brand.
Build and manage a portfolio of leadership annual donors to support capital projects and sport specific needs.
Achieve fundraising and premium seat/suite sell goals set by the Associate Athletic Director of Development.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) – three (3) years of prior work experience in college athletics.
Strong organizational and attention to detail skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple assignments with competing deadlines.
Working knowledge of Salesforce or a customer relationship management system.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, including oral and written.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
