Responsibilities

Develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive strategic plans to improve academic support services and programs, aligning them with the university’s mission and goals; Provides visionary leadership and guidance to academic support staff and collaborate with various departments to ensure effective and efficient provision of services; Stays informed about emerging trends and best practices in academic support services to continually enhance program offerings;Coordinates academic advising services for high needs students, ensuring compliance with eligibility requirements and academic progress standards; Collaborates with athletic coaches, faculty, and university staff to create individualized academic plans for high-needs students based on their specific needs and goals; Monitors and tracks academic progress of high-needs students, providing necessary interventions and support when necessary; Organizes and implements workshops, seminars, and other educational programs aimed at enhancing high-needs students' personal development, life-skills, and overall well-being; Fosters a positive and inclusive team culture among students, promoting teamwork, self-discipline, and resilience; Maintains open communication with athletic coaches, academic advisors, and other campus partners to ensure a holistic approach to student support; Stays up-to-date with NCAA regulations, as well as state and federal laws to ensure compliance with all relevant policies and guidelines;Supervises, trains, and provides professional development opportunities for academic support staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality services; and fosters a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in the appropriate area of specialization and eight years of related experience; or master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of related experience.

Recommended Competencies

Ability to interpret academic program requirements and provide advice;

Knowledge of academic resources available to students;
