Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and three years of experience in athletic fundraising, educational fundraising, sales or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

A master’s degree is preferred and will substitute for one year of the required experience. A master’s degree in sports management or related preferred.

Job Description Summary

The University of South Alabama’s Athletics department is seeking to hire a Director, Athletic Development. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

| Essential Functions |
- Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards donors with an emphasis on restricted giving; portfolio will include a caseload of 50-100 donors with annual giving capacity between $500-$10,000, including some major gift assistance. - Works with specific teams and coaches on engagement and solicitation strategies for special projects and needs. - Responsible for creating and distributing publications associate with restricted giving and stewardship. - Assists with the planning and implementation of the department’s fundraising priorities and advancement activities. - Manages Athletic Endowments with assistance of campus development. - Builds and grows Letterwiner engagement. - Maintains donor prospect information via Raiser’s Edge and Paciolan. - Ensures compliance with University, state and federal rules and regulations. - Regular and prompt attendance. - Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required. - Related duties as required. |
