| Job Summary |
We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Director, Athletics Communications.

The purpose of this position is to assist the Sr. Associate AD – External Relations and Revenue by providing & overseeing sports information services for select sports while providing support for the athletics external team. This position will serve as the primary contact for Women’s Volleyball and Men’s Basketball and will support Football, Women’s Basketball, and other sports as assigned. - This position is required to work evenings, weekends and overtime to report to conference, local and national media sources and supply required information for assigned sports. - Valid Driver’s License. - Limited team travel (only post-season and when necessary).

Job Duties

SPORTS OVERSIGHT AND SUPPORT SERVICES

• Serve as the lead (or assign) statistician and provide live statistics for events through StatBroadcast (or other systems) for assigned EWU varsity sports.
• Compile statistics for all sports following intercollegiate athletic events and ensure accurate reporting to opposing teams, conferences, and the NCAA.
• Serves as the departmental liaison with media representatives.
• Anticipate, coordinate, and support the informational and interview requests from media personnel.
• Make recommendations to Athletic Department leadership regarding enhancements/changes to policies and procedures of the Athletics Communications office.
• Assist in establishing and implementing the policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and public image of the intercollegiate sports program.
• Maintain informational aspects of the Official Athletic Department website (rosters, headshots, bios, scores, recaps, etc.)
• Assist in the development of content, monitoring, and updating official department social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).
• Assist coaches with the maintenance of individual sports social media platforms.
• Gather, organize, create, and distribute Athletic Department news on assigned projects in select sports.
• Work with departmental staff, coaches, and student assistants to provide information.
• Collect athletic news and data to use in news releases.
• Proofread news releases and statistical data for use in news releases and essential communications from opponents, conferences, and the NCAA.
• Distribute, in a timely manner, all electronic mailing of releases.

• Advertise athletic teams and individuals through regular distribution of news releases and statistics.

• Complete required forms and questionnaires from national media, conference office, and the NCAA on assigned sports.
