The Georgia Tech Athletic Association (GTAA) sponsors varsity intercollegiate athletics competition in 17 NCAA Division I sports for the Georgia Institute of Technology. We are a proud member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Plan and direct the financial planning, accounting and reporting functions within a college or an academic related or business unit in accordance with Institute financial policies. May include responsibility for research fund accounting functions. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit management, faculty and staff; research sponsors and auditors. This position typically will advise and counsel: unit management and faculty. This position will supervise: financial/administrative staff.
Job Duty 1 -
Develop, coordinate and manage unit financial and budgeting systems.
Job Duty 2 -
Manage the maintenance of unit accounts and associated reporting processes.
Job Duty 3 -
Perform ongoing and ad hoc financial analyses and report results.
Job Duty 4 -
Oversee unit budget administration and coordination including budget related reporting.
Job Duty 5 -
Coordinate and facilitate audits of unit financial practices and records.
Job Duty 6 -
May provide financial management support for research projects.
Job Duty 7 -
Advise unit management regarding financial consequences of plans.
Job Duty 8 -
Investigate and resolve unit financial issues.

Manage training, development and staff supervision.

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of accounting principles and practices, especially as applied within a university academic, research or business office environment. This includes skills in management/supervision, budgeting, planning, communications and customer service. Use of office and financial related computer software and applications is required.
Ability to assist with internal controls related to accounting and fiscal checks and balances to monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations.
