Job Description
The Director of Football Recruiting and Events organizes logistics and participates in on-campus visits for recruits. Maintains a thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations relating to recruiting. Plan and execute football based events as it relates to recruiting as directed by Head Coach, General Manager, and Chief of Staff. Develops itineraries working with coaches, SASSO, strength, professors, etc. Spends time with the families on visits to address questions or concerns. Coordinate travel and lodging arrangements for prospects and families, including reimbursements for other authorized expenses. Working with Blackwell Inn or alternate hotel to secure rooms; work with caterers for all necessary meals. Assist in developing itineraries with coaches, SASSO, strength, professors, etc. Game days: Manage and educate the ambassador program for official visit pairings and for game day in the recruit room. Oversee distribution of tickets, credentials, and meal payment. Manage “thank you” styled follow up programs to recruits and families.
Responsible for the budget associated with On-Campus recruiting. Develops processes and practices to keep unit functioning at highest, most efficient level possible. Administrative support to football staff in support of the program's recruiting efforts including producing and coordinates correspondence, mass mailings, memos, forms and lists at the request of the coaches. Manages student staff. Produces daily general correspondence mailed out to prospects based on weekly mailing theme and oversees/collects parent letters from coaches daily. Acts as liaison between Ohio State Football staff and visitors/guests of the Woody Hayes Athletic Complex. Administrative oversight to annual football coach’s clinic and high school camps. Assist with High School camps; manage all the one-day camper prospects. Ensure paperwork is accurate, coordinating with Compliance. Assist in building relationships and collecting information from prospects and parents via electronic and social media.
Manages fiscal processes for the football office, prepares and reconciles expense reports, processes payments and paperwork. Assists with team travel coordination and associated procedures. Manages expense reports for all assistant coaches recruiting travel. Point of contact with local vendors that are utilized in recruiting events. Assists in maintaining calendars, databases, schedules, and appointments for football staff. Analyzes the trends in the office and provides updated information to coaching staff. Creates correspondence for recruits and answers inquires. Acts as liaison between Ohio State Football staff and visitors/guests of the Woody Hayes Athletic Complex. Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education Required:
Years of relevant experience required: 6
Preferred minimum years of relevant experience: 8-12
Additional Experience Required:
1-3 years’ experience working with Division 1 football program. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with a diverse population required.
