Job Responsibilities:
The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking a Director of Athletic Apparel and Olympic Sports in the Athletics Department. Under limited supervision by the Director of Athletic Equipment, this role must have the ability to work independently to effectively provide direction and oversight to assigned areas of responsibility. This position is responsible for the apparel operations for Olympic sports student-athletes. Will work to coordinate proper maintenance and fitting techniques, including the development and implementation of a proper maintenance schedule. Supervises the purchasing, inventory, and issuance of equipment and apparel and must maintain records of all purchasing, inventory, issuance and maintenance of equipment. Coordinates the identification and acquisition of the footwear, apparel, and equipment needs. Responsible for the laundering of all necessary apparel items in a timely manner on a daily basis, schedules and supervises the laundry program and maintains all laundry facilities, equipment, and chemicals. Supervises the student managers and places them in proper areas to ensure athletic equipment needs are met and assist in the development and implementation of a training program for student managers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in NCAA Division I equipment. Familiarity with and have a strong passion for collegiate sports. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Basic proficiency with computers and MS Office programs. Strong time-management skills. Works with minimal supervision and manages own time effectively. Structures and directs the work efforts of others. Coaches, develops and evaluates the performance of others including student managers. Promotes teamwork and assists to resolve issues that may come up.
