Director of Athletic Communications & Marketing – Full-time

Cairn University is seeking candidates to fill the full-time staff position of Director of Athletic Communications & Marketing. Cairn University, a non-denominational Christian institution located in Langhorne, PA, offering 12 intercollegiate sports.

The Director of Athletic Communications & Marketing is responsible to gather, assess, maintain, and report statistical and descriptive information for all sports. The Director plays an essential role in creating a positive image of Cairn by producing interesting, timely, and accurate information for the media, to satisfy league requirements, and to publicize sports activities among the University's various constituents. The Director is the key individual responsible for marketing Cairn Athletics: The Director performs statistical analysis of in-game data, compiles individual and team performance break-down, prepares pre-game and post-game press releases and articles incorporating athlete and coach interviews, and manages the Athletics social media including, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. In addition to having experience taking stats, the individual must have experience in using statistic-oriented databases, video editing, film breakdown, conference reporting, and writing game day articles. The Director assists the Director of Athletics and supports the athletics programs in a variety of ways which may include department administration, NCAA compliance, and assisting with game-day details. Consideration will not be given to candidates who are also seeking to coach.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree. A degree in English or Communications is preferred; excellent writing skills are required. One to three years of experience with managing statistics or sports marketing and a background in athletics are required.
