Northwestern College is seeking applicants who are leaders in digital sports communication for the role of Director of Athletic Creative Content. The position will conceptualize and execute highlight videos and other video projects, social media, and website graphics, as well as develop graphic design collateral promoting all athletic programs for external units’ digital and printed purposes. The role will coordinate all social media platforms ensuring that content is regularly updated on the department’s main social media accounts. The position will play an integral role in the communications, marketing, development and creative efforts of the Department of Athletics. This is a full-time, 12-month position that will work with the Red Raider athletic communications office under the supervision of the Director of Athletic Communications.
General Responsibilities:
Research, strategize, conceptualize, propose and design creative projects for electronic, print, web and interactive media.
Collect content during events to use as resources for recruiting, marketing, storytelling and recaps.
Serve as the primary media coordinator for Red Raider social media pages.
Collaborate in brainstorming meetings to elevate the graphic design, branding and storytelling opportunities for the athletic department across social media, broadcasts and fundraising.
Shoot and create content for all 23 NAIA sports and the entirety of the athletics department, in collaboration with a staff of student videographers. This includes production and distribution of video across social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube), to include feature stories, highlights, previews, etc.
Supervise and mentor student employees in creative video production.
Coordinate/assign graphic content relevant within today’s digital sport market.
Creatively use social media to promote Red Raider student-athletes and programs.
Monitor sport-specific social media pages.
Lead processes for translating the brand style guide into daily content applications across graphics, video, photo and animation.
Lead the photography team, casting vision for our photographic expression.

Work collaboratively with the college marketing and communications department to promote a consistent, Stand Out, Red Raider brand.
Desired Skills, Abilities and Traits:
Hands-on experience in videography, photography, animation or graphic design.
Proficient understanding of Adobe creative environments.
Experience in managing multiple social media accounts on multiple platforms.
Ability to create and publish original, high-quality content.
Strong knowledge of social media platforms and trends to develop and achieve social media design plan.
Problem solver, versatile, efficient and attentive to detail.
Ability to keep up-to-date on new trends and innovative approaches in the industry.
Ability to rapidly prepare graphics to respond in real-time to emerging news and team performance/accomplishments.
Ability to handle high-stress situations and manage multiple responsibilities.
Growth-oriented leader who empowers others to flourish.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, sport management or a related field.
1-3 years of related experience in sports creative content.
