DIRECTOR OF ATHLETIC MEDIA RELATIONS

Bridgewater College, a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III, is seeking applications for the position of Director of Athletic Media Relations, to begin immediately. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Director of Athletics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Handling all daily operations of the Athletic Media Relations office
• Oversight in the operation of the day-to-day coverage of Bridgewater’s 24 intercollegiate athletic programs
• Member of Athletic Administration Leadership Group
• Primary contact between the Athletic department and all external media outlets
• Maintain a quality working relationship with the college’s Marketing and Communications Department
• Main contact for multiple sports and responsible for all publicity efforts of applicable sports
• Writing and editing press releases
• Supervise and assist in the production of live game streaming
• Supervise and produce online digital media content & athletic department social media accounts content
• Produce game stories and game programs
• Managing home events for respective sports
• Keeping and updating statistics and record books
• Conducting interviews with coaches and players
• Assisting in the maintenance of the athletics website
• Providing game recaps and other human-interest stories
• Advertising and marketing
• Supervision of Athletic Media staff
• Complying with all NCAA, conference and college policies and regulations

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 1-2 year’s experience in a director level position in Athletic Media Relations at the college level preferred, or suitable experience as an assistant or in a related field
• Strong written and verbal communications skills as well as computer abilities are essential.
• Position requires working nights, weekends and some travel with assigned teams.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Photoshop/Premiere), StatCrew, NCAA Live Stats, PrestoStats, Production Truck, video production and live streaming is required
• Experience with creative social media content is required
• Familiarity with SideArm Sports, Box Out Sports and Gipper is preferred
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the college’s auto insurance carrier.

Pay is competitive, and salary is commensurate with experience. This full-time position offers a full benefits package, including paid tuition at the College for eligible dependents.
