The Director of Operations oversees the operations of the Athletics Department with respect to facilities, equipment, and apparel. Responsible for athletics purchasing, facility scheduling, facility maintenance, and inventory control. Serve as a member of the Athletic Leadership Team and participate in departmental and institutional committees.
Direct the purchasing of all athletic apparel, equipment and electronics.
Track and monitor athletics equipment budget.
Assist in the purchasing of Physical Education skills equipment.
Develop and disseminate facility schedules for all athletic activities.
Coordinate practices, contests, fundraisers, and prospect clinics for all 26 teams.
Input all activities into institutional scheduling software.
Prepare and maintain athletic facilities in collaboration with FACS for practices, contests and classes ensuring a safe environment for activity.
Ensure properly functioning seating, scoreboards, message boards, sound systems, and individual sport equipment (nets, goals, etc). On occasion, serve as home event management supervisor.
Maintain inventory control of all athletic apparel and equipment by: entering all new items in databases, tracking issuance and return, deleting all items no longer utilized by the department, completing a season ending inventory and a comprehensive year end inventory.
Assist with the daily operations of the athletics equipment room including: laundry; uniform setup and repair; and equipment fitting and maintenance.
Direct the daily operation of equipment issuance for Physical Education skills and teacher prep classes.
Direct supervision of a full time assistant, a graduate associate, and 10-15 student employees.

Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred in the Athletic Administration, Physical Education or Sport Management fields of study with 1-3 years of work-related experience.
Knowledge of NCAA, conference and institutional rules and policies.
Ability to assist and support 26 sport programs.
Ability to analyze departmental needs and develop purchasing plans to move the department closer to meeting strategic goals with fiscal responsibility.
Operational knowledge of scoreboards, message boards, video and electronics.
Knowledge of protective equipment fitting and maintenance.
Evening, holiday or weekend work as needed to meet operational objectives.
