Job Summary:
The Director of Athletic Operations & Events serves as the department’s facility scheduler and a game day events manager. This position works as part of an events and operations team under the direct supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director. The Director works closely with internal University offices, as well as the coaching staff, student-athletes, outside groups, and spectators.
Job Duties:
Event Management (50%)
Serve as event manager for Division I athletic competition and special events, including Patriot League and NCAA Championships, PIAA High School Championships, and other externally contracted events in athletic facilities. Plan, schedule, supervise, and recap the operations of internal and external events ensuring efficient operation to maximize smooth conduct of all games for participants, officials, visiting institutions and fans. This includes coordination of a wide range of areas across campus, including ticket operations, equipment, public safety, technology, sports medicine, marketing event logistics, and part time or student facility staff. Schedule event staffing with internal and external constituents through the University scheduling platform. Manage assigned events, facility operations, and auxiliary services as necessary. Develop and manage Visiting Team Information mailings, along with practice scheduling.
Facility Management (50%)
Coordinate practice scheduling for the following facilities: Sojka Pavilion, Davis Gymnasium, Gerhard Fieldhouse and all outdoor athletic facilities. Maintain the Department’s EEP and EAP’s for all athletics facilities. Manage the department’s Facility Access Control requirements for keys and card access. Assist with budgeting decisions that are consistent with the department's decision-making and planning priorities.
Perform any other duties and/or jobs deemed necessary for the functioning and success of the Event Management area.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Two (2) years of experience in athletic events or operations
Prior experience supervising staff in the areas of operations or events planning
The Director must possess the interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with a wide variety of people of diverse backgrounds and at various levels of the organization, as well as provide excellent customer service. S/he must also be a self-starter who has the ability to balance multiple tasks, produce high-quality work on tight deadlines, and be able to manage a work schedule that includes evening and weekend work.

Master’s degree
Three years of experience in athletic events or operations
Experience with EMS facility scheduling/management software or similar

49,200.00-61,500.00
The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
