Job Summary

The Director of Basketball Operations will support the basketball coaching staff in their recruitment, counseling, conditioning, training and coaching of the basketball team including monitoring academic progress, retention, promoting, grant-in-aid recommendations, scheduling, and etc. Must adhere to all safety standards, ensure the well-being of student-athletes and support their academic success.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the basketball coaching staff in their recruitment, counseling, conditioning, training, and operational procedures
• Assist in the on-campus recruitment of prospective student-athletes
• Maintain recruiting software and coordinate weekly mailings
• Coordinate all video (i.e., film exchange, film editing, scout tapes, etc.)
• Responsible for putting together the competition schedule
• Coordinate all community service functions for the assigned program
• Serve as the liaison with marketing/promotions, compliance, academic support, facility management, and game operations
• Coordinate summer camp operations
• Perform related departmental duties as required
• Adhere to any and all NCAA, SWAC and Grambling State University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field
• Two years minimum experience in sports recruiting, counseling, conditioning, training and coaching.

Preferred: - Master’s degree - Experience in direction of all activities of the basketball program
