Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Athletic Director for Governance and Compliance, this position is responsible for the day to day creating, maintaining, and monitoring of a compliant environment that results in clear institutional control of all athletic programs relative to Conference and NCAA legislation as required by NCAA Division I membership. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing interpretations to coaches and staff regarding NCAA legislation and creating rules education documents. This position will have a primary focus on initial eligibility and monitoring in addition to other compliance responsibilities.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures related to NCAA rules compliance and rules education for student-athletes, athletics staff, applicable university staff, and representatives of athletics interests.
  • Complete and submit requests for waivers of NCAA and conference rules, where necessary.
  • Maintain and execute a comprehensive, and dynamic NCAA rules education program for the University faculty, staff, coaches, boosters, and student-athletes.
  • Research, write, and issue NCAA rules interpretations.
  • Serve as the daily liaison with Transfer Admissions.
  • Coordinate institutional monitoring program for assigned NCAA bylaw areas.
  • Manage all aspects of scholarship awards (initial, renewals, reductions, non-renewals) as well as scholarship adjustments in conjunction with appropriate University and department offices.
