About the Position:
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
The Director of Creative Video is responsible for maintaining the established brand of SMU Athletics, as well as manage and lead student interns.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for creating video content for internal and external use and in-game presentation.
Work closely with assigned SMU athletic teams (sport responsibilities TBD after hiring), creating content for social media platforms.
Additionally, they will research and assess new video methods and technology and make recommendations for new equipment, modifications, or process enhancements as appropriate.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
A minimum of three years of work experience, with at least one year in a creative role with a focus on video production in college athletics is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.
Candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate video concepts with clear reasoning behind proposed solutions and respond positively to feedback and revisions. Must also possess flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be thorough and dependable are essential.
