Southwestern University , located in Georgetown has an immediate opening for a Director of Development for Intercollegiate Athletics. As a key member of the Development team, this role is focused on donor acquisition, retention, and revenue growth for Athletics. The primary responsibility is to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with major gift donors. Additionally, the position will work to grow membership in the Pirate Athletic Association and expand the Corporate Partners Program. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, Parent Giving, this position collaborates closely with the Director of Annual Giving, other Major Gift Officers, the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, coaches, and various University stakeholders to achieve these goals. This is a full-time, fully benefited, exempt position who reports to the Senior Director of Development, Parent Giving.
Primary Duties:
Collaborates with the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics to involve coaches in identifying prospects and determining needs within their respective programs. This position also partners with them to cultivate and solicit donors to support those funding priorities.
Partners with and advises the Senior Director of Development, Parent Giving on principal giving prospects, preparing briefing documents for the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and the President in preparation for major gift solicitations.
Works collaboratively with the Annual Giving team to develop annual plans to solicit gifts from alumni, parents, and friends to support Pirate Athletics.
Promotes membership in the Pirate Athletic Association among alumni, parents, and friends of Pirate Athletics to grow annual support and assist with retaining annual donors.
Performs other duties as assigned.
