The Director of Leadership Giving, Athletics works to fundraise at the leadership giving level ($25,000 – $99,999) on behalf of
UNH
Athletics. The incumbent will focus primarily on managing a portfolio of prospects capable of making philanthropic contributions in this range from Athletics constituencies (alumni, parents/families, students, friends, fans, staff, and other stakeholders) to support the priorities of the Director of Athletics and the needs of teams, coaches, and student-athletes. In addition to partnering with leadership and stakeholders across
UNH
Athletics, they will also collaborate with many colleagues across the Development team and University Advancement. Beyond personal outreach and interactions, they will coordinate strategic communications, events, and other initiatives as needed to engage, cultivate, identify, qualify, solicit, and steward prospects to motivate them toward leadership level giving.

The Director of Leadership Giving, Athletics will join the University of New Hampshire Foundation at a critical time during an ambitious fundraising campaign in anticipation of a public launch in 2025. The incumbent embraces goal-oriented outcomes and is an entrepreneurial, creative thinker who is passionate about the fundraising potential for
UNH
Athletics, and capable of building and expanding relationships with constituents in ways that have a quantifiable impact on philanthropic achievement. They will have a proven track record in fundraising (preferably in intercollegiate athletics) or a closely related field of expertise, and will possess outstanding interpersonal competencies, ability to effectively manage projects/priorities, and be highly motivated, organized and detail oriented.

Minimum of 5 years of fundraising experience or equivalent (sales, business development, account/relationship management, marketing and/or public relations)
Bachelor’s degree
Demonstrated understanding of the relevance of philanthropy and Development expertise
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, about fundraising support; requires the ability to build rapport in an open, friendly, and accepting way, listen attentively and change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in varied situations.
Exceptionally strong interpersonal skills and experience interacting with internal and external constituents who are diverse in characteristics such as age, education level, race, gender identity and expression, ability, and socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally competent and supportive manner.
Exceptionally strong organizational skills and ability to juggle and prioritize a multitude of projects/tasks.
Orientation as a team player and demonstrated strength at partnering with peers, management, and leadership and collaborating across diverse university units and departments.
Demonstrated understating of the responsibility to maintain sensitive information and appreciation of ethics and compliance.
Availability and willingness to work nights and weekends when events and opportunities require. Openness to travel on behalf of
UNH
for donor/prospect visits or as the university’s representative, including local, regional, and domestic trips.
Exceptionally strong analytical skills and experience working in a metrics-driven environment.
Proficiency in database technologies and Microsoft Office and technological/data acumen.
Commitment to the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and advancement
Knowledge of the fundraising profession and its theories, standards, policies, and systems
Familiarity with a university setting and fundraising campaigns
Familiarity and experience with Intercollegiate Athletics, especially in
NCAA
Division I
Experience with portfolio and volunteer management and solicitations
