The position will be responsible for coordinating all facets of marketing and promotions for the athletic department. Individual will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans, game scripts and special promotions. It is expected that the Director of Marketing & Fan Engagement will drive attendance and enhance the fan experience.
• Work with sponsorship to oversee corporate sponsorship fulfillment and planning.
• Work with ticketing to oversee the group sales program for all ticketed sports. Sell football, men’s basketball, and baseball group tickets. Cultivate current and past groups and new prospects to generate sales. Contact area businesses, youth organizations, and other large groups to promote the group ticket program.
• Create, coordinate and execute marketing plans and initiatives for all sports to increase awareness, attendance, revenue and fan engagement for each athletic program as directed by the Associate AD for Marketing and Strategic Communications.
• Oversee the daily marketing and fan engagement efforts of Marketing and Social Media Coordinator and graduate assistant(s).

• Direct community events to generate excitement and community engagement.
• Develop, Coordinate and execute the marketing of various ticket packages through social media and digital marketing channels and platforms as well as traditional media.
• Leads the day-to-day marketing and assist with digital media and creative services of the athletics department.
• Create and develop promotional plans and giveaway strategies for all sports to maximize ticket sales, attendance, fan experience and fan engagement.
• Serves as in-house producer for all home events. Determines how each in-game element is implemented, including sponsors and game day groups (promotions, music, public address announcer, entertainment, presentations, video, band, cheerleaders, dance and mascot).
• Assist with the development of print advertisements, schedule cards, posters and other promotional and marketing collateral as needed.
• Strategize, organize and coordinate campus marketing initiatives targeted to faculty, staff and the student body to maximize support.
• Recruits, trains, and coordinates the student intern program and game day staffing.
• Oversee the Samford cheer and mascot programs and coordinates game day operations of the football marching band and basketball pep band.
• Coordination with the central university Marketing and Communication Division to assure consistency with university brand guidelines and overall university marketing strategies.
• Other duties as assigned.
