Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Studies, the Director of the Matador Achievement Center is responsible for providing senior leadership over academic support for student-athletes, including the development and management of the academic support and advising program for approximately 400 CSUN student-athletes. The incumbent will be responsible for oversight of all academic services for student-athletes and Matador Achievement Center staff members.

  • Provides senior leadership to the Matador Achievement Center and operates within the scope and intent of NCAA, Conference, and University regulations
  • Serves as a resource to departmental/college leaders and advisors, and promotes a commitment to the academic success of student-athletes.
  • Supervises the academic advising processes and academic support programming for student-athletes.

  • As a leader, demonstrates a commitment to student success that is mission aligned with the university’s vision, values and priorities. Establishes an ethical and collegial work environment, promoting a collaborative, accountable and inclusive team. Encourages a courageous and resilient solution-oriented environment by participating in new opportunities to further the mission of the university.
