Job Description:

USC Athletics is looking to hire a Director of Olympic Sports Performance to join our staff and student community of 600+ individuals. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the university's sports performance program for all Olympic sports, including men’s and women’s basketball. This role will oversee the Olympic Sports Performance staff and be responsible for delivering sports performance training to a subset of sports. This individual will be responsible for creating a safe and inspiring environment to support the athletic development of student-athletes striving to reach their fullest potential through guidance and coaching.

This is an exempt position with work expected to include travel, weekends, early mornings, and evenings.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and maintains the university's sports performance program for all Olympic sports, including men’s and women’s basketball. Responsible for creating a safe and inspiring environment to support the athletic development of student-athletes striving to reach their fullest potential through guidance and coaching. Will have direct oversight of the holistic training of specified sports.

  • Management of the sports performance department and staff, including but not limited to, training plan development, recruitment and hiring, facility scheduling, continuing education, and adhering to athletic department and sports performance policies and procedures. Builds and administers annual budgets.

  • Maintain awareness of industry standards and new technologies/developments to implement with sport programs as needed.
