Job Description:
USC Athletics is looking to hire a Director of Olympic Sports Performance to join our staff and student community of 600+ individuals. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the university's sports performance program for all Olympic sports, including men’s and women’s basketball. This role will oversee the Olympic Sports Performance staff and be responsible for delivering sports performance training to a subset of sports. This individual will be responsible for creating a safe and inspiring environment to support the athletic development of student-athletes striving to reach their fullest potential through guidance and coaching.
This position serves a diverse student and staff population, must demonstrate a commitment to improving outcomes for historically under-served populations, and is expected to contribute to the program’s diversity, inclusion, and equity efforts. Roles and responsibilities:
Develops, implements, and maintains the university's sports performance program for all Olympic sports, including men’s and women’s basketball. Responsible for creating a safe and inspiring environment to support the athletic development of student-athletes striving to reach their fullest potential through guidance and coaching. Will have direct oversight of the holistic training of specified sports.
Management of the sports performance department and staff, including but not limited to, training plan development, recruitment and hiring, facility scheduling, continuing education, and adhering to athletic department and sports performance policies and procedures. Builds and administers annual budgets.
Maintain awareness of industry standards and new technologies/developments to implement with sport programs as needed.

Ensures adherence to all association, conference, and university rules by athletes and supporting staff. Complies with all rules and bylaws of the NCAA, Conference, and university regulations relating to program conduct and administration.
Supervises employees and/or student workers.
Promotes an environment that fosters inclusive relationships and creates unbiased opportunities for contributions through ideas, words, and actions that uphold principles of the USC Code of Ethics.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) and have over five years of experience (seven years preferred). Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.
Working knowledge of collegiate athletic conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
Excellent organizational and strategic planning skills.
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and Title IX compliance.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to meet the extended hours and travel requirements of the position.
Skilled at implementing administrative tasks and maintaining interpersonal relationships with colleagues.
Maintains current CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
CSCCA and/or NSCA certification.
Valid driver’s license is required.
Experience working in higher education and/or a sports related field ideal.

Salary Range:
The annual base salary range for this position is $155,000- $195,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
