Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Director of Operations/Technical Coordinator for Women’s Volleyball. The primary role of this position is to provide technical and operational support for the Women’s Volleyball program. This position is under the supervision of the Head Coach and will coordinate and organize video and program operations on a daily basis.Among the key duties of this position are the following: Live codes all contact in practices and matches. Prepares statistical reports on all practices and matches for coaching staff. Creates and disseminates film clips for volleyball student-athletes following practices and matches. Assists in creation and dissemination of coaching scouting reports and player game plans for each opponent. Identifies statistical trends using analytics and percentages. Books travel and hotel arrangements. Plans and arranges all meals, per diem requests/distribution, and develops and distributes itineraries for each trip as well as game day schedules for team travel. Manages hotel rooming assignments, flight manifests and coordinates with bus companies for away competitions including airport pick up/drop offs. Arranges for and schedules recruiting travel and travel for coaches as necessary. Completes all necessary expense reports and credit card reconciliations for the women’s volleyball staff. Works with Athletics staff for competition related arrangements, practice and competition times with opponent institutions, facility preparation and any practices or other program events that may be planned for the competition venue. Schedules competition day activities (meals, practice times, etc.). Communicates competition day schedules to student athletes, support staff, and any other relevant parties. Coordinates with staff from host institution when team is away from home regarding practice times, practice sites, pass lists, and other logistics as necessary. Serves as primary contact for all technology services associated with the volleyball program, such as Volleymetrics. Coordinates community outreach initiatives on behalf of the volleyball program. Other duties as assigned.
Full Time
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications
Requires bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Demonstrated technical experience using digital media equipment, video creation, editing software, and/or digital media control software. Knowledge in production techniques including videography, compression and file delivery. Good organizational and time management skills. Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment. Ability to communicate clearly with student athletes, coaches and administrative staff. Must perform above duties with the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior and in accordance with University, Departmental, Big Ten or other affiliated Conference and NCAA regulations, policies and procedures.
Knowledge of NCAA regulations relative to rules in administration preferred.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to work evenings/weekends.
