Directs the student-athlete development in Softball through the management and utilization of program facilities, equipment, and technology and assessment of individual player and overall team strengths and weaknesses. Supports the head coach in the day-to-day operations of the Sotball program.
45% - Essential - Player Development and Opponent Scouting: Manages the assessment phase of the Softball player development program. Evaluates current student athlete strengths and weaknesses through the use of video analysis and personal observation. Provides regular skill assessment reports to coaching staff. Presents staff with strategies for player development based on analysis of student-athlete strengths and weaknesses and the evaluation of the team during scrimmages, practices, and games. Develops presentations for coaches to use to instruct players. Provides opponent scouting reports to coaching staff.
20% - Essential - Player Analytics and Technology: Manages and monitors all equipment and facility operations relative to player development. Directs coaching staff, student-assistants, and student-athletes in the proper usage and implementation of the technology/data provided. Liaisons with Strength & Conditioning, and Sport Science to decipher data and how to integrate within the program. Track and organize metrics to help identify when players are trending off target with development plans.
15% - Essential - Practice Planning: Develops offensive, defensive and base running strategy to be implemented during practice. Assists with identification of roles within current roster and development of those roles. Runs, analyzes the data produced with Yakkertech technology with hitters and pitchers. Assists with front toss, fungo, setting up machines and any other duties assigned to ensure practice planning is efficient.
10% - Essential - Recruiting: Helping organize recruiting through recruit databases. Helping with visits, mailers, questionnaires, schedules. Watching film to helping narrow down prospects for coaches. Facilitate, organize, narrow down the transfer portal. Work with coaching staff to facilitate visits and on campus contacts.
10% - Essential - Student-Athlete Services: Works with support staff to create student-specific development and team building programming, including selection of guest speakers and facilitation of community service projects. Assists coaching and academic support staff in monitoring the academic performance of student-athletes. Liaison with Mental Performance and Health programming and integration in program, practice planning.
Education - High School or Equivalent
Work Experience - 3+ years
Education - Bachelor's Degree
Experience as a player, coach, or staff member in professional, college or high school softball.
