This position will serve as the ultimate authority and university expert related to and in accordance with sport performance, health, nutrition and injury resilience of 15

Division II athletic sport teams, and 2
NCAA
Division I Hockey teams, totaling over 350+ student-athletes. Position serves as the ultimate authority and university expert for the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center and Halenbeck Hall intercollegiate student-athlete performance centers.
The Director of Sport Performance must follow the National Collegiate Athletic Association (
NCAA
), National Collegiate Hockey Conference (
NCHC
), Western Collegiate Hockey Association (
WCHA
) and all University and Minnesota State regulations.
The Director of Sport Performance is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and evaluating strength and conditioning program for both the Men’s and Women’s Hockey programs at St. Cloud State University. The Director of Sport Performance will evaluate all Division I student-athletes performance and injury resilience on a regular basis.
Serving as the university expert in sports performance, health, and injury resilience, it is the Director of Sport Performance’s responsibility and goal to ensure all student-athletes are resilient to injury, enhance their level of sport performance, and are coached and educated on personal health habits to optimize injury resilience and athletic development on a regular and consistent basis.
The Director of Sport Performance will work cooperatively with the coaching staffs, athletic training staff, athletic department administrators, university physicians, team physicians and doctors, medical consults, sport nutritionists, sport psychologist, and all other parties involved in the well-being and support for the student-athletes as it relates to the student-athletes performance, health, nutrition, and injury resilience.
The Director of Sport Performance will directly supervise one full time employee and approximately four interns.
Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Health, or related field and 2 years’ experience working with high level collegiate Hockey or professional Hockey;
OR
Master’s Degree in Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Health, or related field and 1 years’ experience working with high level collegiate Hockey or professional Hockey
Certified in
CSCS
(Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through
NSCA
) or
SCCC
(Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification through CSCCa)
Certified in
CPR
or the ability to obtain certification upon employment.
Evidence of demonstrated ability to work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field; 6 years’ experience working with high level collegiate Hockey or professional Hockey

Experience managing a staff
Periods of long standing, ability to work long hours, ability to travel 3-4 days at length for 6-7 months out of the year, noise levels associated with intercollegiate athletics, and ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move objects weighing in excess of 150 pounds.
