POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Director of
Athletics to carry out responsibilities related to the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of
athletic injuries; supervise, manage, and mentor staff; implement therapeutic exercise programs and utilize
therapeutic modalities; oversee student-athlete insurance processes and work with local health care
providers; maintain accurate medical records in accordance with HIPPA; supervise and mentor clinical
students; adhere to NATA and state laws of practice related to athletic training; as well as other duties
assigned by supervisor.
POSITION REQUIRMENTS: A minimum of five to seven years of collegiate athletic training experience,
including work in a supervisory role; a graduate of a CAATE program; BOC certified; eligible for State of
Mississippi licensure; CPR/AED certified. Effective verbal and written communication skills; sound
interpersonal ability in working with student athletes, coaches, families, and university personnel; the ability
to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must fully support the vision and mission of

The Director of Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer is a full-time, salaried position with competitive pay.
Benefit packages are available to include health, dental, vision, 403B retirement, etc. Reimbursement for
