Functional Title : Director of Strength & Conditioning
Classification: Salary - Exempt
Division: Athletics
Department: Strength
Reports To: Director of Athletics
Primary Function: Direct, develop and oversee the institution’s Athletics Strength & Conditioning program.

Major Duties:

  • Develop, organize, and implement year-round strength & conditioning programs for LCU student-athletes including proper lifting techniques, speed development, plyometrics, nutrition, injury rehabilitation (in conjunction with Athletic Training), and recovery methods.
  • Conduct and monitor all aspects of the program in accordance with the rules and policies established by Lubbock Christian University, the Lone Star Conference, and the NCAA.
  • Communicate regularly and consistently with coaching and athletic training staff regarding pertinent details related to the strength & conditioning program.
  • Direct the testing and evaluation of student-athletes on a consistent basis.
  • Maintain a computer training database with information regarding each team as well as specific student-athletes.
  • Counsel student-athletes on basics of nutrition for health and wellness, training, competition, recovery, hydrations, travel, and supplementation.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized weight room.
  • Assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes as requested.
