Iowa State University is accepting applications for a Director of Track & Cross Country Operations. This position will work under the direction of the Director of Track & Field/Cross Country and will coordinate the daily operations and administrative functions for the Division I men's and women's track/field and cross country programs with a commitment to adhering to university, Big 12 Conference and NCAA policies. This position will not serve in any coaching capacity or attend away meets.

This position will work under the direction of the Director of Track & Field/Cross Country and will coordinate the daily operations and administrative functions for the Division I men's and women's track/field and cross country programs with a commitment to adhering to university, Big 12 Conference and NCAA policies. This position will not serve in any coaching capacity or attend away meets.

Responsibilities may include:

• Coordinate operational and administrative functions such as facility needs, practice calendar, competition schedules, and business functions;
• Manage sport expenditures and budgets;
• Coordinate team travel and logistics;
• Serve as sport liaison between coaching staff and operational units;
• Help with pre-meet and race-day operations;
• Assist with recruiting visits and functions;
• Oversee the admissions process and housing for incoming student-athletes;
• Assist with monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes;
• Contribute to and enhance a competitive athletic experience;
• Establish and maintain an environment conducive to the welfare and academic success of the student-athletes;
• Establish and maintain effective interactions with the students, colleagues, university community, alumni, media and the public.

This position requires strong organizational, decision making, multi tasking and communication, with an understanding of track/cross country operations. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Requires the ability to work some evenings and weekends.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.

Directly related experience in athletics administration or sport operations that includes experience with track/cross country operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with collegiate athletics administrative/operational processes.

Experience managing large group travel logistics.

Experience planning for and hosting meets.
