About this position

The Director of Wrestling operations will be to assist the Men’s and Women’s Wrestling program with all day to day responsibilities. In that support role, the director will be responsible for maintaining daily office needs of the program, helping with budgets, recruitment, travel, planning, making meetings, scheduling, and being the in-person interaction for our student athletes.

• Required to attend matches and practices as needed to assist Head Coaches.
• Offer administrative support to Head Coaches, Assistant Director of Athletics, & the Director of Athletics.
• Assist in mentoring and monitoring student-athletes' academic progress.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Equally manage support and time management between both Men’s and Women’s Wrestling Programs.
• Operate under scheduled office hours to offer support to the athletic administration team, student athletes, and any athletic meetings.
• Required to attend matches and practices as needed to assist Head Coaches.
• Offer administrative support to Head Coaches, Assistant Director of Athletics, & the Director of Athletics.
• Assist in mentoring and monitoring student-athletes' academic progress.
• Follow all rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA, SAC and Emory & Henry College.
• Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: game day management of other sports, fundraising, and collaborative work with partnering organizations on campus.

About our ideal candidate

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Previous coaching and/or recruiting experience required.
• College playing experience is preferred.

Skills, Characteristics Required for Position:

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the stages of student development and the importance of holistic education.
• Ability to establish appropriate and effective mentoring relationships with student-athletes.
• Ability to be a supportive team player within the Department of Athletics and Emory & Henry College.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
• A working knowledge of recruiting and compliance software.
• Demonstrated commitment to continued learning/professional development (i.e., attend conferences, clinics, workshops).

• Experience working with 25 plus athletes
• Maintaining budgets exceeding $100,000
• Knowledge of Scholarships and NCAA Rules and Regulations
• Guided Recruitment Tours
• Organization skills

Working & Environmental Conditions:

• Expected to work weekends and evenings as needed.
• Work may be performed in an outside setting to include inclement weather.
