DIRECTOR / SCOUTING & VIDEO OPERATIONS / WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
This position provides professional level assistance for the Women’s Basketball Head Coach and Women’s Basketball program as a whole. Exercises independent judgment and leadership. Oversees all video and technology needs for the program. Oversees the flow of information, manages projects, assists with the management of the internal operations of the Women’s Basketball Program, facilitates necessary communication to and from the Women’s Basketball Head Coach, and performs analysis of complex issues to facilitate management of the total organization relevant to this position. Organizes video student staff meetings, information sessions, and video technology training. All tasks will be completed following the policies and procedures set forth by the department, University, state, Conference, and
NCAA
.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience with video editing software.
Understanding of the correct application of
NCAA
guidelines.
Excellent organizational, communication, and public relations skills.
Ability to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Experience working within college athletics.
Experience with video and statistical analysis for a Division I basketball program to assist coaches in the preparation of a game plan.
Oversees the operation, updating, maintenance and repair of the computer video editing system, digital video recorders, satellite equipment, and cameras, etc.
Stays up to date on cutting edge technology within reason at

MAC
level. Maximizes use of resources to be leaders in the
MAC
.
Coordinates the videotaping and breakdown of
CMU
practice and game videos and opponent game videos.
Assists with the organization of basketball summer sports camps.
Maintains a calendar of opponents’ games and their television schedules.
Prepares end of season breakdown, including organizing and categorizing plays.
Coordinates time and runs video for staff/team film sessions at home, and sets up team room for any team/staff film sessions during travel. Creates and maintains an extensive database and video library of all plays including written diagrams and video supplements with ability to reference and communicate such information to the coaching staffs as required.
Responsible for recruiting practice players on-campus, coordinating their academic schedules and communicating practice time to ensure consistent participation.
Oversees the basketball managers and practice players.
Provides assistance to the staff of Athletics External Relations for the development and use of all promotional and pre-game videos for the Women’s Basketball program. Participates in the production of highlight videos for promotional, recruitment, and motivational use.
Identifies, develops, and provides materials for use in marketing opportunities for the Women’s Basketball program; communicates with the Athletic Marketing staff, and assists in the execution, if necessary.
Prepares and ensures the arrival of all equipment for transportation to athletic events. Participates in the coordination of film exchanges in accordance with Conference and
NCAA
guidelines. Performs routine maintenance on equipment which includes troubleshooting and maintenance of video equipment and software.
Participates in activities related to on campus recruiting of prospective student-athletes, as well as off-campus recruiting as requested by the Head Coach and per approval through proper
NCAA
procedures.
Responsible for the strict adherence to all Department, University,
NCAA
, Conference, state and federal rules and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
