Department Information
The Georgia Tech Athletic Associate (GTAA) sponsors varsity intercollegiate athletics competition in 17 NCAA Division I sports for the Georgia Institute of Technology. We are a proud member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Steeped in history and success while embracing strategic innovation, our programs compete at the highest level and strive for national championships. Tech fans are passionate about their support of their beloved Yellow Jackets and cherish the many traditions involved with the program.

Job Summary

Within an assigned sport; provide recruiting and organizational expertise; direct logistical, operational, and administrative functions in support of intercollegiate athletics game preparation and play. Includes event scheduling, team travel, sideline support and related administrative and promotional activities. Support the Head Coach in building an environment that inspires and empowers student-athletes to be champions in academics, competition, and life. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: coaches, student athletes, GTAA management and staff, vendors, ACC representatives. This position typically will advise and counsel: coaches, student athletes, staff. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Supervise arrangements for team travel including transportation, hotel, meals, etc.

Job Duty 2 -
Develop budget and monitor expenses associated with assigned sport operations.

Job Duty 3 -
Oversee practice, pre-game and sidelines support operations.

Job Duty 4 -
Develop schedules covering practices, travel and other events related to team participation.

Job Duty 5 -
Support recruiting efforts through coordination of recruiting travel, campus visits, etc.

Job Duty 6 -
Provide sport promotional support through such activities as clinic/camp organization and community service. Coordinate logistics and operations for summer camps and clinics.

Job Duty 7 -
Plan and organize activities of assigned sport operations staff. Responsible for onboarding and inboarding of staff and student athletes.

Job Duty 8 -
Coordinate, provide oversight, and serve as liaison for academic services. Oversee the planning and execution of community service efforts.

Job Duty 9 -
Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with key internal and external constituents (guest coaches program, alumni relations).

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Five to seven years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience in intercollegiate athletics strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires an in depth knowledge of the functions required to support the operations of an intercollegiate sports program. Included are skills in leadership, event planning, logistics, budgeting, organization, communications, negotiation and use of office and specialized computer applications.
