The Director, Olympic Strength & Conditioning is responsible for leading and managing a department focused on maximizing the physical development of Notre Dame’s Olympic sports student-athletes. As a key member of the Sports Performance Leadership Team, the Director leads the Olympic Strength & Conditioning vertical, working collaboratively with other Sports Performance disciplines to ensure holistic support of student-athletes.
In this role, the Director oversees the Olympic Strength & Conditioning staff, managing personnel, facilities, and budget operations. They are also responsible for creating alignment in training philosophies and methodologies across the staff to ensure a consistent, best practices approach to physical development. The Director designs training programs for their assigned student-athletes, focused on reducing the risk of injury and enhancing strength, power, endurance, and movement quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement training programs for assigned student-athletes.
Supervise the Olympic Strength & Conditioning staff and serve as a key member of the Sports Performance Leadership Team.
Work collaboratively with other Sports Performance disciplines to provide holistic support to all student-athletes.
Coordinate recruitment, hiring, and training of any new staff members.
Create professional development structures for the Olympic Strength & Conditioning department.
Oversee and manage relevant facility scheduling and budget reports.
Bachelor’s degree (4 years) with a preference in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or similar area
3 to 4 years strength conditioning experience
CSCS

NSCA
) or
SCCC
(CSCCa) required
Knowledge of
NCAA
Rules and Regulations Required
Master’s degree or advanced certification beyond Bachelor’s
