The Director of Football Operations is a hands on position with the coaching staff, student-athlete, and athletic administration. With a duel report to both Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, this position will be critical to the management and success of a high profile program.

Job Duties

Responsible for all aspects of football logistics home and away to include, but not limited to: ground and air travel, hotel, food, practice times/locations, liaison to alumni/fundraising initiatives, equipment procurement and tracking. Handle rate negotiation and coordinate travel arrangements with the business office. Coordinate, negotiate and schedule all air travel to include charter flights. Travels with Football team for away competitions and any post-season competitions Coordinate itinerary, arrange lodging and meals, and set up practice schedules for home and away games. Coordinate travel routes and police escorts (when applicable) for all home and away contests. Communicates with coaching staff of competing teams to coordinate practice times, athletic training needs, transportation and travel requirements. Coordinates all equipment needs including video production and editing. Coordinate video exchange with opposing teams. Maintenance and storage of film. Maintain and distribute all required credentials and assign sideline security.

Primary liaison with Student Life, Life Skills Staff and Sport Psychology Coach. Initiate in conjunction with Head Coach all athlete referrals for Sports Psychology Coach counseling and track attendance and progress. Report to the Athletic Director periodically on every Student-Athlete’s progress.

Serve as primary recruiting coordinator. Assist in maintenance and tracking of recruits using ARMS (recruiting/compliance software). Liaison with Housing on all admissions matters. Coordinator for all on-campus visitations including recruit itinerary and dining arrangements. Work with head coach on disciplinary issues with student athletes. Act as a witness in discussions between head coach and student athlete and follows up with student athletes on progress. Work closely with athletics director on disciplinary sanctions. Submit all travel reimbursement figures to business office for recruits. Pair each visitor with host and administer their weekly spending. Gather pertinent academic, athletic and personal information on visiting recruits and keep coaching staff updated, correspond with recruits and parents as needed. Organize academic interviews and follow-up with weekly correspondence to appropriate staff (i.e. Deans, Academic Support, etc). Coordinate tour pairing and assignments, rooming lists and meal seating arrangements. Organize outside tour guides. Know the whereabouts of each coach, travel arrangements, and contact sheets for all recruits and high school coaches. Set up each Friday, during November, and/or October, the heavy distribution usage. This includes all travel, lodging, meals, etc for the period. Organize in school and at home visitation. Remain accessible 24 hours a day between the periods of the AFCA Convention and Signing Day (January and February) to the Head Football Coach and each Assistant. Report all visiting and contact information to the NCAA. Coordinator of recruiting reception-secure location.Organizing and maintain recruiting film.

Work in conjunction with Athletic Director and Athletics’ finance administrator to plan and maintain the football operational and gift funds.

Oversee all administrative aspects of the football program to include supervision of videographers, equipment room, managers, office support and graduate coaches.

Serve as camp coordinator and as such schedule and administrate summer camp and all coaching clinics. Work with all summer camp personnel to coordinated, market and host one or more youth camps.

Act as primary liaison with External Operations Department, specifically marketing and promotions. Oversee all interactions with External Operations as it relates to Game-Day events.

Oversee football related external and internal events like the Annual Cat Club Golf Outing and the annual awards banquet.

Maintain competency with respect to knowledge of and compliance with state and federal laws, university policies/regulations, conference rules/policies, and NCAA rules, and report to the Director of Athletics your knowledge of any violation of NCAA, conference and/or institutional rules.
