Job Description

The University of Missouri’s Athletics Department is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician. The electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and fixtures across our athletic facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment.
• Perform routine inspections to identify and resolve electrical issues.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems using testing devices and diagnostic equipment.
• Interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
• Install and repair lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, and circuit breakers.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople and department staff as needed.
• Keep accurate records of electrical work performed.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.

Minimum Qualifications

§ A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.

§ Five years of actual work experience and training, including the equivalent of apprenticeship or vocational training, in the trade.

§ Ability to read blueprints, plans, drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical codes.

§ Skill in maintenance and use of tools, equipment and materials of applicable trade.

§ Ability on a daily basis to:

o Grasp, lift, maneuver, rotate, and otherwise use small to large trades tools and equipment.

o Grasp, lift, carry, and set down heavy objects (50-80 lbs.)

o Grasp, turn, twist, pull, push, lift, and otherwise move equipment, controls, parts, etc.

o Visually assess maintenance, construction and repair needs

o Climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding

§ A valid driver’s license may be required.

Depending on the nature of work performed, the incumbent may be required to wear a respirator or self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) as outlined in the “Industrial Standard for Respirator Use”.

Prior experience as an electrician

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $21.63 - $26.44 an hour

Grade: GGS-F
