Responsible for overall direction, management and supervision of equipment operations of assigned sports. Operational responsibilities include coordinating the equipment and apparel preparation and setup for practices, workouts, and equipment transportation to away events. , Big Ten and University protective equipment standards, policies and procedures. Act as the liaison with equipment manufacturers, coaches and student-athletes in selection of sports equipment, shoes and apparel. Financial responsibilities include managing operating budget for each assigned sport including purchasing and inventory control. Direct responsibility for managing their assigned sports portion of the $10 million Adidas equipment contract/budget. The selected candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Must work evenings, weekends, holidays and travel with the assigned sports teams.

Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years of equipment room experience required; Equivalent education/experience will be considered. A thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of inventory control/accountability, budget preparation and management is required. Computer knowledge required. Knowledge of athletic equipment and laundry equipment required. Proper fitting of athletic equipment; Strong coordination and supervision skills essential. Must be able to work evenings & weekends, and travel with various teams on an as needed basis.

background check authorizing them to operate university vehicles.
Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree; will hold an Athletic Equipment Managers Association certification. Experience working in power five conference athletic department or professional sports team equipment department.
