| Job Summary |
This position will assist the Esports Director in establishing a student and community-focused culture and vision for esports at Concord University. The esports program at CU is committed to diversity and inclusion within its leadership, community, and competitive rosters. We aim to foster the best student-athletes in all manner of academics, competitions, professional development, and sportsmanship.
The Assistant Director will assist in overseeing esports student-athletes welfare, including physical and mental health, esports community development, academic support, compliance, and eligibility. The AD will ensure that the teams are supported, the code of conduct is enforced, and commit to ensuring inclusion. While also ensuring other esports program initiatives are met on time. |
Duties and Responsibilities

● The Assistant Director will develop and implement all student activities and programming related to the space
● Collaborating to create a vibrant student-centered environment support student learning, engagement, service, and leadership while preparing students to contribute to a global society
● Create a culture of care and support for all students which empowers them to take an active and influential role in their collegiate experience
●Cultivate opportunities to enrich the student experience and the University’s rich traditions in celebration of diversity, service, lifelong learning, and passion.
● Serves as Esports Community Director and will oversee tournament and event creation aimed at esports community growth and retention
● Develop and implement an annual summer camp/clinic for Esports
●Supports the Director of the program in recruiting esports student-athletes that meet the universities mission and values.
● Works cooperatively with Student Government and student organizations on campus to facilitate esports activities and programming
● Assists the director with the daily operations of the esports programs, collaborations, and student personnel
● Mentors esports team/community members with a focus on academic success, inclusion, leadership, community development, and sportsmanship
● Assists in the development of esports research and academic programs on campus
● Assists in managing varsity and community teams’ practices, events, and sanctioned esports competitions
● Ensure compliance with Title IX and other University policies & procedures
● Provide written reports and documentation as required by the Esports Director
● Participate in departmental and campus committee work as required

- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the technical and operational aspects of collegiate esports and experience coaching
- Experience in developing a welcoming inclusive culture
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (some evenings/weekends) and travel as needed
- Successful record of working collaboratively with colleagues across constituency groups
- Must possess skills in organization and planning, prioritization, problem-solving, and oral and written communication
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Recruiting experience with esports
- Skilled in gaming, computer technology, and software
- Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds
