The Esports Director is responsible for the daily functions of the Esports program. They are the coach of the teams, recruitment specialist, and marketing coordinator. This position is designed to give full individual autonomy over the Esports program and the time to do so. The Esports Director is responsible for the daily functions of the Esports program. They are the coach of the teams, recruitment specialist, and marketing coordinator. This position is designed to give full individual autonomy over the Esports program and the time to do so. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Apply NowCoaching: responsible for coaching all of the Esports teams in which Regents Esports competes. The Esports Director may also work to find volunteer coaches to assist with this responsibility.
Scheduling & Lab Management: scheduling the use of the lab for all Esports teams to practice. The Director is also responsible for maintaining a clean and organized Lab space for all to enjoy.
Recruitment: recruitment of top-tier student-athletes. This includes high school visits, the use of online recruitment software, on-campus visits, and any other recruitment opportunities.
Marketing/Media: Create a comprehensive marketing plan for the Esports program. This includes, but is not limited to, paper media, digital media, and social media. The Esports Director will also be responsible for broadcasting all competitions via the Internet.
Student-First Mentality: develop a culture of student-first athletics. The Director will promote education first and connect biweekly with students to check in on their academic progress.
Events/Camps: create and market events that educate and showcase the Esports program to the University community. These events can include open houses, game day broadcasts, and campus tournaments. The Director will also have the opportunity to run summer camps for prospective Esports athletes.
Assist with Office of Student Involvement Activities: While Esports is the Directors’ first responsibility, the Director will assist the Office of Student Involvement and Orientation with their campus events during certain critical times (i.e. Orientation, Homecoming, Admissions Events).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to work on nights and weekends
Effective time management skills
Be knowledgeable of the programs and resources on campus and in the community
Be a positive role model at events sponsored by Student Involvement and its subsidiaries
Have the ability to do multiple tasks simultaneously
The ideal candidate will have experience with graphic design software and/or willingness to learn these necessary skills
