The Esports Head Coach is responsible for leading the Esports program at
SMSU
. Duties include recruiting, leading practices, and managing gamedays for the Esports students at
SMSU
. The Esports Head Coach will be expected to link Esports students to those University academic and support resources vital to supporting student success. This position will recruit and lead volunteer and/or student assistant coaches and work to resolve any issues that arise within the program. This position will also engage with Information Technology Services
ITS
) staff for purposes of maintaining and updating all technology that is utilized by the Esports program, which includes but not limited to, hardware and software required for competition and streaming.
Experience with the Esports field, as a player, coach, and/or analyst.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
Technical knowledge of specific Esports as they relate to the Esports program.
Demonstrated ability to work with students in an advising role.
Demonstrated record of ongoing professional development.
Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Knowledgeable of Esports industry trends.
Interpersonal and organizational skills.
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
Direct experience with coaching and/or advising college age students.
