Job Description
The Esports Recruiter & Head Coach will collaborate with university departments to recruit and retain students interested in the Esports program. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of Esports and collegiate athletics to ensure program success.
Additionally, the Full-Time Esports Coach, under general supervision, is responsible for the development, management, and growth of the varsity Esports program at Texas A&M University-Texarkana.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** :**
Develops and implements effective recruitment strategies to attract talented individuals to the Esports program.
Conducts coaching, instruction, and training activities for Esports athletes during practice, training sessions, and competitions.
Collaborates with university departments to plan and organize recruitment events and activities aimed at increasing the population of admitted and enrolled Esports athletes.
Provides input into the selection of games and tournaments for varsity competition, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.
Coordinates off-season, practice, and competition schedules for the Esports team.
Assists with team travel arrangements and ensures compliance with all league, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
Pursues sponsorship opportunities within the Esports industry to support program initiatives and growth.
Ensures personal behavior and program reputation align with Texas A&M University-Texarkana values and brand.
Assists in the development of long-term goals and strategic plans for the Esports program and the Department of University Athletics. Organizes and conducts camps, clinics, and promotional events to enhance program visibility and attract prospective athletes.
Develops marketing and communications materials to promote the Esports program both internally and externally.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES** :**
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six years of related experience
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in applicable field.
Experience coaching Esports Athletes.
Experience working in a collegiate recreation setting.
Experience in developing social media platforms for streaming video game feeds for public consumption.
Experience working with websites and software packages.
Experience in developing sponsorship and/or donation proposals.
Knowledge of recruitment and marketing principles.
One year of related experience in recruitment and admissions functions of higher education.
Other Requirements
Ability to use technology for student tracking and processing.
Ability to collect, write, and report various types of data sets.
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
