Summary of Job Duties: The Event Management Coordinator, for selected sports, will serve in the oversight, implementation, and coordination of all regular and post-season events for those sports. The Event Management Coordinator will be responsible for on-site management and administration of these events and will assist with game operations in Football as directed. In addition, they will work with constituents on campus and within the community to coordinate related event services. The Event Management Coordinator is responsible for completing and submitting all post-season materials (SEC, NCAA, etc.) in their assigned sports, and the reconciliation of those financial reports. They will assist with on-campus NCAA/SEC Championships as assigned by the Director of Event Management. A commitment to the rules and regulations of the NCAA, the Southeastern Conference and the University of Arkansas is essential. This position will report to the Director of Event Management.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in area of sports management, event operations or related field
Ability to manage multiple and concurrent tasks, and to supervise others
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate Degree in Sports Management or related field
One year or more of Div. I athletic event management experience
Experience in delivering a high level of customer service
Experience with developing and implementing policies and procedures
Athletic administration experience at the Division I level
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge and experience with Division I intercollegiate athletics administration
Excellent public speaking skills and personal relation skills
Strong customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, organizational, administrative, and negotiating skills
