The Iowa State Athletics Department is accepting applications for the position of Event Manager (event planner I). The Event Manager will independently plan, coordinate, and implement primarily small to midsize events that may include conferences, meetings, weddings, donor events, reunions, proms, concerts, shows, and non-ISU athletic events. This position serves as the primary event manager for designated events and assists with a variety of operational and administrative projects.
The ideal candidates will be self-driven with a strong focus on customer service. Candidates should have good skills planning and managing events; proven ability to work with regular interruptions; ability to manage multiple projects and vendors/staff simultaneously; be a problem solver; possess good interpersonal and communication skills; be highly organized;and effectiveworking withinternal and external stakeholders.Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse clientele.
Must be available and flexible to work assigned evening and/or weekend events; able to lift and move up to 40 lbs; and able to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.

• Works on problems and issues of somewhat limited scope
