The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Executive Assistant to Head Coach, Men’s Basketball

ROLE of the POSITION

This position exists to provide direct assistance to the Head Coach, Men’s Basketball for administrative functions, alumni relations, donor relations and special events for men’s basketball. The executive Assistant to the Head Coach will work closely with the Head Men’s Basketball Coach as well as the Deputy Athletic Director/Athletic Director on a daily basis.

The Executive Assistant to the Head Coach will serve as the direct liaison to the Athletic Director for budget presentation and preparation for the men’s basketball program. Administrative responsibilities as required to support the program, including but not limited to, responsible for game day tickets for home and away games to ensure NCAA Compliance through ARMS, assist with team travel arrangements and monitor team travel budget, and men’s basketball special event planning. This position will create, process and monitor game guarantees for the head coach and scheduling coordinator. As nutritional needs are identified for the student-athletes, this position will assist organizing and ordering team meals.

The position will be expected to assist in liaising with the Runnin’ Rebel Club to help expand its membership and with updates regarding needs for the men’s basketball program, as well as working with the Rebel Athletic Fund on donor travel throughout the season. This position will assist in promoting and growing the former player/alumni relations, “Legends” program through planning, promoting and executing special events throughout the season. This position will be expected to maintain relationships with donors and former players and to promote the men’s basketball program in a positive manner.

This position will promote the Head Coach and the men’s basketball program in the community as well as on campus by working with on- campus student groups. This position will liaise with the Manager of Community Relations to develop & plan community outreach opportunities for the men’s basketball team and coaching staff to help increase positive publicity of the program throughout the year.

This position will also assist with facility improvement plans as it relates to men’s basketball. This position will also assist with summer camps and clinics. The Head Men’s Basketball Coach will assign other duties and special projects as necessary.

This position should also have a basic knowledge of NCAA rules as it pertains to assigned job duties and the scope of employment. In addition, this position will be responsible for obtaining proper guidance or approval from Athletics Compliance, prior to participating in select activities, as defined by NCAA bylaws or institutional policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires aBachelor’s Degreefrom an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) anda minimum of one (1) year of comparable professional experience. Master’s Degree preferred. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
