The Executive Associate Athletics Director for Peak Performance possesses a broad understanding of integrated support team (
IST
) expertise (i.e., strength and conditioning, sports medicine, nutrition, mental performance, etc.), in order to effectively provide leadership and support in a collaborative high-performance academic and sport environment. The role requires frequent interaction with student-athletes, sport coaches,
IST
staff, campus and industry colleagues, and senior administration, in addition to the ability to develop and provide educational resources, and to mentor and supervise multiple staff. This position will lead the Dartmouth Peak Performance (DP2) team in Athletics by developing and implementing innovative and data-driven performance systems designed to help student-athletes maximize their potential as students, athletes, and people during their Dartmouth careers. They will participate as a member of the Director of Athletics and Recreation’s leadership team to inform policies and practices critical to creating and maintaining a championship culture within the athletics department.
Masters or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Six years of progressive experience in a sport performance environment with high-level sport or tactical athlete populations (collegiate, professional, and/or olympic).
Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Sports Science, Sports Performance, or related field.
Experience in data analysis, reporting and statistical software (e.g., Excel,
SPSS
, R, Tableau,
SQL
,
MATLAB
, etc.)
Proficiency with sport science technology (e.g.,
GPS
monitoring, heart rate, force plates,
EMG
/signal processing, etc.).
Experience with database management functions and various software tools.
Proven leadership and management skills.
Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills to motivate and work effectively with diverse groups and individuals internal and external to the College.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in sensitive situations and work effectively in a fast-paced and complex work environment.
Highly developed ability to make justifiable decisions.
Strong planning and analytical skills.
Doctoral Degree.
Previous experience leading a high-performance team.
