The Executive Director, eSports will provide oversight and management of all aspects of the eSports program at Roosevelt University. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, recruiting of prospective students to meet enrollment goals, team assessment and management, budget maintenance, equipment procurement, scheduling and travel, event operations, community outreach and engaging with student-athletes to aid in their academic success, retention and eventual graduation from the University. Position will oversee team head coaches and assistant coaches, as appropriate, as well as any potential student employees.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Leadership experience in eSports as a coach, participant or related role
• Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Capacity to work effectively with a variety of constituencies, including department leadership, students, parents, staff and faculty
• Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
• Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• A positive and professional demeanor is a must.

• Prior recruiting experience at the college level

Basic office equipment (desktop computer, copier/ multi-function device, fax and telephone).
Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds of weight or pressure). Regular use of desktop computer is required, calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition. Moderate level of stress. Occasional travel within the local or regional setting may be required.

Program Management
Develop the annual operating budget for the program. Manage the operating budget over the course of the year following all institutional guides for purchasing and reimbursement. Create annual competition schedule. Organize all team on-campus events and logistics for travel to off-campus competitions. Order, inventory and distribute necessary equipment and uniforms for team training sessions and competitions. Ensure program is compliant with all department and associated governing board policy guidelines. Build relationships with local, regional and national high school, junior college and club programs and coaches to help in identifying prospective student-athletes to meet enrollment goals. Travel to engage in prospective student fairs, interest forums and evaluate prospective student-athletes at competitions, as appropriate. Facilitate campus visits for prospective students and develop on-going dialogue that leads to their eventual enrollment. | | Percentage Of Time | 30 |
