General Notes
Director/Assistant Director may be hired based on experience, qualifications and candidate selected for the position. Additional hours will be required to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. This job is not suitable for remote work and is expected to work regular on-site hours. Occasional travel is required.
Purpose
Oversee facilities branding throughout the Texas Athletics facilities. Using established brand guidelines, provide and ensure consistent brand strategy, oversight, and expertise. Manage the creation, installation, and updates of various facilities branding projects across Texas Athletics.
Responsibilities
Serve as a project manager for the Capital Projects department. Maintain a schedule to ensure deadlines are met for the procurement, creation, and installation of various facilities branding projects. Provide effective visual, verbal, and written communications at all levels of the organization. Serve as the primary point of contact with campus partners.
Understanding and/or willingness to learn technical signage and display processes and applications. Develop knowledge of appropriate materials and their application to a particular space.
Create graphics, displays, and multimedia assets to enhance the consistent branding of Texas Athletics facilities.
Maintain project files and records. Communicate consistently, timely, and reliably with all project stakeholders, including Athletics Staff and Leadership, professional service providers, university personnel, and contractors, to ensure that projects are thoroughly documented and understood.
Engage and collaborate with vendors, interdepartmental colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and efficiency in designing, planning, coordinating, scheduling, installing, and updating facility branding elements on a regular basis.
Collaborate with internal partners such as Communications, Marketing, and Creative Development to ensure display information, creative, and branding are up to date across facilities. Maintain records as needed to ensure correct information is displayed. Participate in Creative Development planning and brainstorming meetings. Anticipate and discuss needs for new assets or updates based on items such as team or individual accolades. Ensure the latest trends and best practices are implemented.
Demonstrated knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving technical, operational, or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to different situations.
Maintaining financial functions, including invoicing, purchasing, and financial reporting.
Demonstrated understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
Drive UT vehicle in support of facility projects and special events. May serve on committees, task forces, etc., to improve project delivery. Attend management-directed meetings and training.
Consistently exemplify the core values and quality service standards of Texas Athletics. Always act ethically. Proactively seek guidance when unsure or unclear of a law, rule or policy applicable to you or your department/sport program. Actively participate in assigned education and training programs. Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Conference, or other governing body, including state and federal laws. Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income. Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR. Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation. Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years of experience in graphics design and production. Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop. Excellent organizational, problem-solving and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to remain flexible and work on multiple projects concurrently under rigid deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
More than 5 years of experience in graphics design and production. Experience working with a collegiate or professional sports team in Communications, Visual Arts, Sports Management or a related field.
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
