Brown University Athletics and Recreation is currently seeking candidates for the Facilities and Event Operations Coordinator position. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1).
This role serves as a competition manager for assigned intercollegiate events and assists with oversight of varsity practices, special events, outside rentals, camps & clinics, tournaments and championships hosted by the Department of Athletics. This position also assists athletic facilities & operations staff with day-to-day facilities & operations duties, including facility scheduling, maintenance, event set-up/breakdown and projects.
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage and supervise Brown University intercollegiate athletic events for assigned sports including oversight and supervision of event staff, scorers’ table/press box (PA, scoreboard, clock, etc.).
Assist with scheduling and securing facility rentals (within the University as well as outside groups) for the purpose of reaching target revenue.
Manage athletic operations interns including hiring and overseeing work schedules
Manage and maintain an inventory of athletic facility equipment and furniture.

Qualifications
Strong planning and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to utilize computer software and other requisite programs.
Proficient in a variety of software (Scoreboard, Video, etc.).
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate a strong client service orientation; should be extremely customer focused on both internal and external customers and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds.
Must be flexible with a high sense of accountability and responsibility.
Willingness to be available on weekends or evenings when/if necessary.
Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to compliance with, NCAA, ECAC, Ivy and University rules and regulations in regard to operations.
Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
Education
Experience
All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions are required to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test, maintain current AED/CPR & First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division), and attend all required divisional and/or NCAA training/education programs.
